As a “Nation in Cri- sis” education standards were tightened, teachers doled out more homework, assemblies were scarce, T.A. sessions didn’t die but were made imperative by a P or F grade, and the bother- some computer phoned home whenever a class was missed. An improved education? For some, dodging the system oncr the wrath of the administration, became a more difficult endeav- or and for those attempting to grow and learn, a tougher chal- lenge. ---— r
