Imagine yourself spending a day in Alta High
School. You would find it quite easy to find a
Sophomore either in or around school.
The Sophomores spend their class time in
English, World History, Biology, Algebra, and
Home Economics. The Agriculture class is inside
except for an occasional field trip. The drivers
education classes are inside when learning the
rules and outside to learn how to drive and to get
the actual practice. Physical education classes are
held outside in spring and fall and are in the gym
during winter months.
Extra curricular activities also have a share
of the Sophomores time. There are Sophomores
participating in all music activities, vocal and in-
strumental. FFA, FHA, GAA, and Scarlet and
Black Staff are other organizations in which
Sophomores take part as active members and of-
ficers.
Parties are not a forgotten part of the Soph-
omore class. During the year the Sophomores
sponsored dances after football and basketball
games. The Freshman-Sophomore party is held
twice each year and each class sponsors it once.
