FOREWORD We, the Annual Staff of 1948-49, have tried to produce a yearbook that will long be remembered by everyone in high school. We concluded that it would be impossible to cover every event of a school year, so we have attempted to show only the main ones. If in the years to come, our classmates and teachers can review with pleasure the happenings pictured in this, the fifth volume of El Ocotillo, the purpose of the publication will have been accomplished, and we shall feel amply re- warded for all our hard work.
