Paralleling the rapid increase of in- terested art students in Alpena, the Art department is now offering a wide range of top rate art courses, from jr. high to college and museum level. Mr. Best Mr. I-Ieiberg THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT. Learning music arts becomes a major factor in the preparation for professional careers and personal e nj oyme nt later in life. The Alpena High School Mu sic Department offers the basic training necessary in the de ve lo pm en t of the background for a career in music, and the use of music as entertainment. As a result of the move to the new high school, the music department acquired many new facil- ities, including private offices and libraries for the instructors, larger rooms, a stereophonic recording system, a special auditorium for con- certs, and a private practice field for the Varsity Band.
