ICE EMPRESS AND COURT: Eunice Sommer- field, Marguerite Sequin, Tamyra Hartz, Judy Riegal and Joan Skowronek. Each season brings with it some- thing very special and wonderful in Alpena. Especially is this so when winter is at its peak, for that is the time Alpena holds her Annual Winter Ice Carnival with speed races, bobcat hunting, ice fishing, hockey, dancing, a big ice show in which many students participate. And what would be a carnival without a queen to reign over such a grand occasion? There is great excitement in the air just before Carnival weekend, especially among the fairer sex as they wait to find out who will be selected Ice Empress to preside over the festivities. This year our own Tamyra Hartz, senior, got to wear the crown to make the sixth consecutive year for an Alpena High girl to capture the title.
