We were represented on the ball team by Kelsie Hooks, Der- rall Lockhart, Dwain McClard, Martin Wells, James Overby, Jackie Thorn, David Reed and Ronald Pace. We elected Ruth Bagwell and Bobbie Faye Clark as cheerleaders from our class. We presented the play, A Pair of Country Kids . We enjoyed our Junior-Senior trip to Mammoth Cave. SENIOR ........ Dignified, but Dangerous Now, as the day we have looked forward to draws near, we have twenty-six Dignified Seniors enrolled in our class. We are proud to say that we have the largest Senior class to graduate since Almo school first started. This year the following students did not return: George Compton, James Overby, Derrall Lockhart, David Reed, Eulane Burkeen, Durward Bennett and Jeanne Futrell. We were proud to have Pat Thweatt and Peggy Wilson join our class. Our class officers for the year are as follows: Presi- dent, Henry Towery: Vice-President, Brooks Duncan, Sjecretary-Treasurer, Sue Mathis, Reporter, Dwain Mc- lard. We chose Mr. W. B. Miller as our sponsor. We are re- presented on the basketball team by Jackie Thorn, Dwain McClard, Kelsie Hooks and Ronald Pace. We were proud to have Ruth Bagwell elected as cheerleader for the third time. With the past behind us, the present around us, and the future ahead of us, we twenty-six students say goodbye and thank you to the teachers, janitor, secretary, cooks and bus drivers for all the help they have given us, and to the stu- dent body, Goodbye, good luck and keep your chin up high, because if we made it, you know you can.

Green, but Gorgeous On the 24th of August 1951, we, the Senior Class, entered school as the Green Freshmen of Almo High School. There were forty enrolled in our class. We elected the following officers: President, Ronald Pace, Vice-Presi- dent, Margarett Washer, Secretary, Dwain McClard, Treasurer, Eulane Burkeen, Mr. D. J. Miller was chosen as our sponsor. We were represented on the ball team by Jerry Edwards, Marvin Scott, Bobby Schroader, Derrall Lockhart, Eulane Burkeen, Dwain McClard, George Clark, Kelsie Hooks, Willie Jackson, Martin Wells and Jackie Thorn. Our classmate, Margarett Washer, was elected as cheerleader and most popular girl. We presented a Black Face Minstrel. SOPHOMORE ........ Silly, but Sharp In our Sophomore year we started with thirty-six en- rolled. We were proud to have Ruth Bagwell, David Reed, James Overby and Ramona Cecil join our class. We elected the following class officers: President, Derrall Lockhart, Secretary-Treasurer, Willie Jackson, Reporter, Dwain Mc- Clard. We elected Mrs. E. B. Howton as our sponsor. We were represented on the ball team by Kelsie Hooks, Derrall Lockhart, Dwain McClard, Martin Wells, James Overby, Jackie Thorn, Willie Jackson, David Reed and Ronald Pace. Ruth Bagwell was elected cheerleader from our class. We presented the play, Aaron Slick from Punkin Crick . JUNIOR ........ Jolly, but J ittery Our Junior year we entered school with only thirty-one Jolly Juniors enrolled in our class. The following students did not return: Bobby Schroader, Geraldine Hopkins, Laura Nell Hopkins, Roy Williams, Ramona Cecil and Pat Thweatt. We were glad to have Henry Towery join our class at Christmas. We elected the following officers: President, Dwain McClard, Vice-President, Derrall Lock-

Allene Miller and I, Betty Cope, were sitting in our hotel room in the Hawaiian Islands resting from our long journey. As we sat there we talked of the many friends and beautiful sights we saw as we traveled through the United States. When we came through New York the first thing we saw that looked interesting was a large dress shop. We went inside and whom should be the manager, none other than our former schoolmate, Bobbie Faye Clark. She told us that one of her models was another of our friends, Martha Sheppard. She also told us that two more of our friends, Daphene Herndon and Geraldine Wilson, were tak- ing part in the opera singing in New York. Also we were told that Brooks Duncan had become very famous in his piano playing. When we were in Maryland we met Willie Jackson, who was a professor at the University of Maryland, and Jackie Thorn, who was their basketball coach. Jackie told us Dwain McClard was coach at Murray State College. The next morning we took a plane to Texas. Before our take off we met the pilot, who was Asher Jones, and the stewardess, his wife, Fannie Scott. We were glad to meet them because they were also our classmatesg however, we didn't think it was safe with Asher as pilot. Fannie told us Marvin Scott and his wife were owners of the largest farm in Kentucky. After we were in Texas, we saw a sign which said, Come visit the largest oil well in the world . When we met the owner, we were very much surprised to find it was Harold Speedy Jones, another classmate. Speedy told us Jerry Edwards was manager of a large circus and Joe Pat Thvggatt had become the champion hot rod driver of the wor .
