PROSE AND POETRY ROOM I My Pickle I bought a little pickle, That cost just a nickle. I cut it in the middle. And it squirted just a little. Larry Shanafelt I like to go to Sunday School It helps me learn the Golden Rule Bonnie Cornell My dol1's name is Mary Ann. I treat her the very best I can. Margaret Bouseman My Dogs I have two dogs, Their names are jack and jill, When I go riding on my sled, They beat me down the hill Sylvia Braden The Snow The snow is white, The snow is light, It came and covered The ground last night, Dorothy Gammon Five Soldiers Five little soldiers standing in a row, All bow down to the Captain so, They march to the left, They march to the right They stand up straight All ready to fight-- When alsong came a man With a great big gum And, Bang!--You ought to seen Those soldiers run. My hair is red, My eyes are blue My teacher, she Has red hair, too. Ronald Stipp Father Valentine Once there was an old man., His name was Father Valentine. Father Valentine sent little notes to the children. The children called them Valentines. Qn Father Valentine's birthday we send Valentines to each other. Dorothy Gammon My New Home My daddy built a new house, We moved to it last week. It has a concrete floor And the roof doesn't leak. It has no upstairs in it- That does not suit me For in our old house that is where My room used to be. john Gragg The Lunch-room We have a lunch-room at our school. We eat in the lunch room every day., We have good things to eat. Sometimes we have ice-cream. We have two cooks Ronnie bupp The Turtle Shell One day Billy Smith and I were playing out doors. Billy found a turtle shell. We took it in the school house, Mrs, Lulu put it on the bookcase. The turtle had been dead a long time. john Gragg Our Bill-board We bring pictures to school to put on our bill- board. Mrs. Lulu, our school teacher, brought a picture of the United States and some flags. Rolla Sullens made Indian designs and put them bill-board.
