CLASS HIST OR Y In the Yell' of 1938 Mr. Lulu Owen planted five little seeds in the first row in the garden of Alma School. She planted a variety of Elnora Williams, Mike Bee, Vernon Powell, joan Baker, and Della Mae Watson, These seeds grew into Mrs. Williams room. In the third grade joan Baker was choked out by a weed called Toledo, Illinois. Billy Writht took her place. The same group of children went on until Clyde Wayoner joined them in the fourth grade. The other seeds grew into the sixth grade where they lost Vernon Powell, He was choked outuand thrown away by another seed called Effingham, Illinois. iAfterca year -he came'back as af thistle and re- joined the merry troup of half grown plants which now consisted of Elnora Williams, Bill Wright, Vernon Powell, Anna Mae Feathers, johnny Wyatt, Mike Bee, and Clyde Wagoner. But Clyde left at the end of the seventh year. The group of now almost grown plants were ready for the last row in the garden of Alma School. The gardener, Mrs. jackson pulled out the weeds and fertilized them with Geography, Reading, Arith- metic, Spelling, English, and History. Then they were transferred to the 8th row. Six grown up plants remained. They were johnny Wyatt, Bill Wright, Anna Mae Feathers, Mike Bee, Elnora Williams and Vernon Powell. We hope these plants will soon leave the garden of Alma School and go out into the garden of the world. Sue Hester Elnora Williams
