THHUH Thinc lads in Action Coaches Hicks and Brenner were very proud of the '50 track team because of the fine development made for the coming years. Although not winning all their meets, they picked up valuable experience. The first track meet to be held on the Alma High School trackin seven years was held this year. The Panthers made good on their home track, winning two meets, losing two, and placing second in a triangular meet. From the regional meet Milt Bowen, running the half mile, and the medley relay team qualified for the state finals. Some outstanding players in the various events were: Dashes: Dick Coon, Doug Grover: High Hurdles and Low Hurdles: Dick Bethka, Track captaing Quarter Mile: Dick VanDemark, Bob Sinko, Gordon Smithg Half Mile: Milt Boweng Mile: George Chaseg Pole Vault: Dave Glazerg Broad Jump: Dick Coong High Jump: Dale Nbarragong Shot Put: Norm Thompson, Dale Narragon, Ron Garberson.

TI'I1l'll0 , Playing the entire season without afull time coach, the tennis team played a very tough schedule. Among their opponents, East Lansing, Midland and Cadillac all won their conferences, easily placing high in the state. The season record ended with two matches won and six lost. nhOe D01. - Nancy Gr ee lls Kei th GIRLS' SPRING INTRAMURAL The girls' ladder golf and tennis tournaments, initiated this year, drew enthusiasm'from all who participated. A tennis trophy was donated to the school and the name of 1950's champ, Nancy G1-e-enhoe, was engraved on it.
