Dedication Gertrude Pfouts Dean of Girls We, the student body of Alliance High School, dedicate this 1953 Chronicle to our understanding deans, Mrs. Gertrude Pfouts and Mr. Guy Hoover. To Mrs. Pfouts We Wish to show our appreciation for the work she has done for us and the help she has extended to us during our high school careers. In 1931, when the school first recognized the need for a dean of girls, Mrs. Pfouts was chosen for her understanding of young people. Since that time, she has proved her capability over and over again. While taking charge of delinquency and tardiness, she often serves as a counselor to those in need of help and advice. In addition to the invaluable service she is continually rendering in her present capacity as dean, she has also served the school and com- munity in many other Ways. During the depression she first became associated with the National Youth Association to find employment for students. She is still affiliated with this organization. She is one of the trustees of Scholarship Foundation, is on the Music Study Club scholarship committee, and works on the board for the Community Concert Series. She was patroness of the January, 1948, and June, 1951 graduating classes, and is an active worker in the First Methodist Church. 4
