We Were June Madi' in January Buk ron left to right Thelma Taylor Thelma Fnkes Shnles NlSll0Ilg9l' f eorge Dlctruh Betty Stem nt Furl Slucch ul ll alter Spall l'l0llt lou loft to llght lacl lost Nlzuguct Nlhltfurc Ron :ld Nloroncs Pall Bacon Dorothy Ruff Donald Albright Snow flurries whirled about Alliance folk as they excitedly made their way to the Alliance High School auditorium where the January Senlor Class of 1945 was to present June Mad a sparkllng comedy of modern youth The story concerns Penny Wood played by Betty Jane Stewart and Chuck Harris George D1etr1ch the boy next door as they go about the frequently difficult but always years older than she brings Roger Van Vleck Ronald Moroney a senior and a killer dlller home from college she forgets she IS a man hater and succumbs to an attack of calf love which is ten degrees worse than measles In her efforts to make herself at tractlve to the fascinating Roger she almost disrupts two families but the dlscovery that Roger IS double crossing Merwyn by trying to steal his girl Thelma Taylor brlngs her back to normal and incidentally to Chuck Mr and Mrs Wood were played by Farl Sheehan and Shirley Niswonger and Mr Harris by Walter Spall Milly Lou Shir ley and Ralph Wentworth were play ed by Thelma Fickes Dorothy Ruff and Earl Bacon respectxyely The two unforgettable domestics Effie and Elmer were played by Mar garet Whitacre and Jack Post Martha My ers understudled all the girls parts while Earl Bacon was the under study for the boys Norma Nluffly chairman of the Property Committee was assisted by Robelt MCBIIHH who was in charge of the stage Corrine Stlyers handled the make up work while Jean Zeiner chairman of the publicity committee attracted Alllance to the performance of June Mad 29 5 .'
