Superintendent B. F. Stanton Principal J. E. Vaughan The treasurership of the National Education Association and a coni- mendatory address honoring sixteen years of service as executive secre- tary-treasurer of the Northeastern Ohio Teachers' Association have been the most recent honors bestowed on Mr. Stanton. These climax the many years of valuable service and guidance which he has rendered the Alliance public schools. T A spontaneous burst of applause greeted Mr. Vaughan as he stepped on the stage of the auditorium, making his first appearance before the stu- dent body after a long illness. This expressed better than words our need of him and joy at his return. This absence made us appreciate more fully our principal's many years of work and endeavor on our behalf. 6

FACULTY English Department ' Teachers in the English depart- ment are Miss Renna Ross, head of the department, Miss Margaret Benjamin, Miss Marian Elliott, Miss Mary Gaal, Miss Mary Frances Glandon, Miss Martha Haldane, Miss Helen Hender- shot, Miss Dorothy Marmet, Miss Flor- ence Meyer, Miss Ellen Nolt, Mrs. Gertrude Pfouts, and Miss Mildred Walker. Mrs. Florence Mowry is the high school librarian. Miss Elisabeth Carson is on a leave of absence. Languages Departments In the Latin department are Miss Jane Dilley, head of the department, Miss Frances Miller, Miss Hilda Moore, and Miss Martha Hawk. Miss Elizabeth Wright teaches French, and Mr. Floyd Atchley, German. Social Science Department In the social science department are Miss Mabel Hartzell, head of the depart- ment, Mr.,Robert Hier, Mr. Guy Hoover, Miss Jeani Miller, Mr. Oren Mollenkopf, Mr. Fred Stuckey, Mr. Byron Walker, Miss Ruth Weaver, Mr. Walter Webb, and Miss Helen Wright. Mathematics Department Miss Mary Dilley is head of the mathematics department. Miss Jane Armstrong, Miss Bertha Marmet, Mr. Herbert Pritchard, Mrs. Erma Richard- son, and Miss May Smyth are the other teachers in this department. H l
