During this campaign year, students had a special opportunity to form and express political opinions. Some classes held mock elections, and juniors in American History had the actual experience of running for public office during County Government Week. While discussing prominent current issues, students in the required subjects, American Government and American History and in the elective, world history, form a healthy appreciation and respect for the past. The combination of these two phases of social science strives to fulfill the goal of molding informed citizens for the future. Is it a new nation or.a now trouble spot?
