J. D. Smith takes advantage of Sadie Hawkin’s Day by making Veronica Austen carry his books. This day, welcomed by the male half of the student body, is climaxed with a dance in the high school gym. Even year during Thanksgiving vacation the Hi-Y sponsors the Hi-Y Model Legislature, which is held in the Capitol Building at Lincoln.
