CLE resideizfh essaqe For three years you have struggled with books, theories, dogma, doctrine, and facts, now you are about to put all of these things into the great test-tube of Life. lt is in this manner that you are going to discover the real worth of your foundational Work while in school. The words of your teachers, the advice of your faculty, the reproofs and rebukes of your superiors, the exhortations from the Chapel services, the crises in prayer will become to you t'he real treasures in the store- house of knowledge. You will find that as the days roll by land experi- ence fills in your theories, you will be enriched more and more with the sublime, the beautiful, and the holy things of the unseen World. VVith high hope and youthful vigor and aspirations, you should undertake confidently the problems and the responsibilities that your fellow-men and the Lord whom you serve lay on your shoulders. Do not shirk responsibility. Do not take the line of least resistance. Take the sword of the Spirit and the shield of Faith, and with fortitude and courage grained in much prayer, you shall win. It is your privilege to take the advantages that have been yours in these years of preparation and enlarge upon them by constant applica- tion of the same principles which you have been taught until your lives will be as the shining light which Hshineth more and more even until the perfect day . Wliatey'er your field of endeavor, wherever your path may lead, may you ever remember that there is one common mercy seat. . There is a scene where spirits blend And friend holds fellowship with friend, Though sundered far, by Faith we meet Around one common mercy seat. Jlfwwr QM -+42 1 6 K+'
