Q7 PEP CLUB '23 Left to Right: Back row: Jean Thompson, Rose Payne, Marjorie Howe, Betty Thompson, Kate Higgins, Diane King, Dorothy Litherland, Rose Marie Dudley. Middle row: Miss Owen, Ruth Reed, Jane Payne, Ann Madden, Eileen Shepard, Irene Talley, Beth Wolfe, Janette Sparks, Earline Sa1tsgaver,. Front row: Joan Price, Alicia Beesley, Beazie Hipsher, Carolyn Trimble, Edith Thomp- son, Emily Jane Winter, Maxine Mullinax, Marjorie Leek. Yell Leaders: Marjorie Price, Jo Ann Brinkley, Gretchen Hipsher, Martha Corrie. At the first of the year we organized a Pep Club under the direction of Miss Owen. We elected officers as follows: president, Kate Higgins, vice-president, Eileen Shep- ard, secretary, Beth Wolfeg and treasurer, Maxine Mullinax. As a symbol that we belong to the Pep Club, we purchased white sweaters and put purple and gold emblems on the back of them. These were to be worn to every ball game. , The members of the school board were kind enough to let us take an extra bus to all the away games and we wish to express our thanks and gratitude to them for letting us have the buses during basketball season. We have fully enjoyed the games this year, and in order to show our appreciation of the boys' good work, we planned a basketball banquet for them. To raise money for this we had a pie supper and sold magazine subscriptions. On the twenty-seventh of March the banquet was held in the school gym. Our speaker for the evening was Abe Martin from S.I.N.U. It was a great success and everyone enjoyed himself to the fullest extent. So ended the year for the Pep Club. JUNIOR PLAY CAST '23 Left to Right: Back row: Jimmie McDonald, La Moine Armstrong J, A. McFarland, Bob Dicus, Bob Corrie, Richard Webb, George Wright. Front row: Mrs. Busenhart, Dorothy Litherland, Marjorie Leek, Maxine Mullinax, Eileen Shepard, Irene Talley, Janette Sparks, Anna Osmon. On December 11, the Junior Class presented Judy Pulls the Curtain, under the able direction of Mrs. Busenhart. The play was a huge success. The entire play took place in the room above the garage of Professor Travis. The time was August of the current year. Professor Travis, the father of Ann and Judy Travis, docsn't like the idea of his daughters going to the movies and does his best to discourage them. Bill Martin, Jack Stevens, and Johnny Blair hire a producer, Mr. Philip Sydney Kingston, and discourage the girls from carrying out their idea of going to Hollywood. As the old saying goes, Everything comes out in the end, it surely does in this three-act comedy. The charac' ers were: Bill Martin ............ .............. J im McDonald Lucy Martin ......
