This is the ninth year of the publication of our school newspaper News Nest. lt is published once each month. This year the paper is under the supervision of Mr. Busenhart. The editor-in-chief is John Watkin. and the assistant editor is Richard Webb. The Science Club was organized in 1946 for the purpose of promoting the unified interests of the various science departments of thc Allendale High School. The club encourages experimental investigation and more extensive scientific reading. It fosters scien- tific interests in southern Illinois and enables the students to become acquainted with all phases of scientific progress. The membership is composed of twenty-two students and their sponsor, Miss Owen. Meetings are held every two weeks.
