A school orchestra is an organization of which any school can feel proud over. Our orchestra has furnished music for the Sophomore play The Touchdownv and also makes an annual appearance at the Farmers Institute. Many of our players are members of the county orchestra. This organization gives many concerts throughout the year and is well known as a splendid concert organization throughout the county and surround- ing counties. Van Buren won the highest number of points in our last Instrumental Contest at Mt. Cory, March 28, and for the first time won a pennant n such a contest. -Mary Ellen Gallant 1928

This makes the eighth year for our societies in Van Buren and we know they shall continue on for this length of time again. We have been rather fortunate this year and are looking forward to the banquet at the end of the year. Under the guidance of our sponsors, Mr. Clymer, Miss Bower and Mr. Hamilton, we have tried to hold up and raise the former records of our society and hope our followers shall always endeavor to do the same. .--1928?
