Kathy Heidrich. and Pat Clark lifted the skirts of their long white gowns as they stepped up to the slippery platform, shivering in the icy rain, but mainly from the net vous anticipation that accompanies all court members Then, as cameras flashed, and spectators applauded boa terously. all nervousness, tensions, and anxieties turned to radiant smdes and tears of supreme joy as Martha Graham was proclaimed and crowned the 1967-68 Homecoming Queen of Allen Park High School by former title holder. The Wonderful World of Color revolved into its grand finale the Homecoming Oance APHS's gym was transformed into a glittering rainbow collage, reflected by the couples' lovely semi-formal dress All too soon, the clock struck twelve, and all couples emerged from The Wonderful World of Color into the crisp, starlit night As they left for late, romantic suppers at exclusive restaurants, all agreed that the kaleidoscopic, psychedelic world of Homecoming 1967 was the best trip anyone could have taken 28
