APHS WELCOMES NEW LEADER Mr Richard I Hogancamp. our new superintendent, perfectly exemplifies the word elan His joy and love of life never seem to waver. The students and faculty notice this, and respond to it readily Mr Hogancamp does not sit behind dosed doors, and dictate orders He is very much in evidence around APHS. One can spot our young at heart head man ' giving words of encouragement to the Jaguars at pep assemblies, cheering the Jaguars on to victory at athletic games, walking in the halls, and visiting classes, or just chatting with students For the short time he's been here, problematic situations have been greatly improved, and other conditions are fast acquiring solutions. Our principal. Mr Harold Oatley. is devoted to and concerned with the sole purpose of managing Allen Park High School with the best of efficiency The position of high school principal encompasses controlling school poley. enforcing student discipline, and formulating student activity He is the initiating and continuing influence in the fine enthusiastic and cooperative spirit which prevails between the student body, the teaching staff, and the administrative staff In a large high school such as Allen Park High, students do not realize the smaller intricate problems and issues needed to be solved in order to have a calm, peaceful, and organized at mosphere These duties including lockers, driving permits, assemblies, attendance, and lunch passes are assigned to and at tended by our assistant principal of five years. Mr. Vincent A. Mitek Mr Mitek works his best to remedy and rule these inside matters to insure the smooth management of our school Dealing with student discipline problems is an extremely difficult |ob. and takes exceptional skill It requires a firm disposition toward all students, as well as the readiness to understand, sym pathize. and solve each individual dilemma Assistant principal.
