Qur Tarot . . Class History The day had finally arrived. At last we had entered high school. We were sixty-seven nervous, but eager Freshmen. Our class was put under the guidance of Mrs. Ruth Causey and Mr. O. E. Moye. T-he Freshmenclass officers were Presidents: Sybil Wall and Eugene Robbins, Vice President:Ronnie Brown, Secretaries, Sandra Gray and Leland Handy, Treas- urers: Carol Silvey and Jimmy Lomax, Reporters, Gwendolyn Meredith and Larry Younts. We returned the following year, the name Sophomore appealing to us even more than our first official title. We were under the adoption of Mrs. Mildred Hussey and Mr. James Horton. The officers for our Sophomore year were Presidents: Barbara Redding and Eugene Robbins, Vice President: Joyce Craven, Secretaries: LoisColtrane and Danny Hendricks, Treasurers: Joanne Riggs and Charles Wallace, Reporters: Carol Silvey and Larry Younts. With a bigger determination than ever, we returned our Junior year and were under the leadershipof Miss Hallie Gilbreth and Mr. O. E. Moye. We were look- ing forward to the wonderful events that we knew were to happen. Among these events was the elections of officers. Our election showed Carol Silvey and Charles Wallace as our Presidents: Sybil Wall and Leland Handy were our Vice Presidents. The positions of Secretaries were filled by Barbara Redglning and Larry Younts. Our Treasurers were Pat Young and Jerry Stutts. To the offices of reporter we elected Joanne Riggs and Gary Bishop. The next event was the tour of Washington with our chaperones Mr. O. E. Moye and Mr. 8. Mrs. Hubert Wright. The greatest day was the one on which we placed the order for our long- awaited class rings. Soon after we rallied together raising money for our Junior-Senior banquet by selling magazines. Our honored people chosen for Marshals were Joanne Riggs, chief, Barbara Johnson, Carol Silvey, Martha Dobbins, Gwendolyn Meredith, Danny Hendricks, Harold Folwell, Larry Younts, Eugene Robbins, and Richard Lightfoot. Could this year be drawing to a close? How differently we surveyed life now! Although we were unhappy to see our Senior friends leave, we were glad to uphold the name of Senior. We were under the guidance of Mrs. Lalah Purvis. The class officers were President: Pat Young, Vice President: Larry Younts, Sec- retary: Sybil Wall, Treasurer: Jimmy Lomax, and Reporter Harold Folwell . Carol Silvey was our D.A.R. representative. Our major productions were the Senior play and Annual, with our graduation exercises next. Was it possible in so short a time we, who were children four years ago, had become responsible young adults, ready to face the world without fear? Many thanks go to our fine teachers, our parents, and Mr. A. D. Early, our principal, for the numerous things they have done for us and for their wonderful guidance.
