Such a thrill it was to us all, the new look as as the part of being a green freshman which 'L at , ,V . .I it P gfffljiihipperclassmen often called us. The girls were put the supervision of Miss Satterwhite and the -Qnder Mr. Moye. The first week was a wnirlwind of excitement-meeting old and new acquaintances and selecting class officers to serve through the ap- proaching year. They were chosen as follows, Pres- idents, Dixie White and Henry McPherson, Vice-Pres- idents, Jqyce Jordan and Wesley Craven, Secretaries and Trea urers, Rena Cook and Frank Odell, Reporter, Gladys H I. Pulling hrough our first high school year, we were now readyigto take the next step up the ladder as full- fledged melhbers of the school. Our sophomore year brought us ul' the leadership of Mrs. Causey and Mrs. Zimmerm Tn. 'Our new slate of officers were as follows, Presidents, Joyce Jordan and Henry McPher- son, Vice-Presioknt, Gearldine Van Horn, Secretaries, Rena Cook and':Wesley Craven, Treasurers,,Dorothy Creasey and Fred Pegram, Reporters, Pat Brown and James Burton. ', The following lygar we returned as happy Juniors looking forward t fthe big events that were in store for us. Miss Chilto and Miss Gilbreth were the super- visors for the boys and girls, respectively. First on the list was the electio of officers which are as follows: Presidents, Helen M con and Henry McPherson, Vice- Presidents, Gearldin Van Horn and Wesley Craven, Secretaries, Bettie Bl r and Charles Hoover, Treasur- ers, Carolyn Fields an David Johnson, Reporters, Pat Brown and Paul laws it -Z The next event was a memorable one which we re- live over and over again-our trip to Washington with Vliss Gilbreth and Mr. Moye our guiding chape- rones. lg In the early spring our classgngs arrived. Such an exciting occasion for us all. Soon there was the planning f the Junior-Senior Banquet. This gala event had Ha iian Cruise as its theme, with Helen Macon and Henry cPherson presid- ing as toastmistress and toastmastert The eight highly honored stud nts chosen for marshals were Charles Hoover, Chie Joyce Jordan, Henry McPherson, Helen Macon, Pau Lawson, Mary Alice Dunlap, Wesley Craven, and Gear ne Van Horn. Now we were ready forthe final step n the ladder as ambitious seniors-the step which w Id influence our future lives. Being put under the out nding guid- ance af Mrs. Purvis, we elected our 'ifla officers to lead us through our unforgettable year. ey were: President, Paul Lawson, Vice-President, Henr McPher- son, Secretary, Joyce Jordan, Assistant Secret y, Cath- erine VonCannon, Treasurer, Charles Hoover, ssistant Treasurer, Wesley Craven, Reporter, David Jo son. Joyce Jordan was chosen by the faculty s the D. A. R. Representative. Then our long awaited year began to close i cur- tains as graduation day rolled around-to ste from the last rung of the high school ladder out ' our unknown destiny. ff Words cannot express our gratitude to Mr. arly and to our teachers for their supreme and h pful guidance.
