'OUZU' 1941 Class History On September 6 1938 hundreds of boys and gurls first met as a new sophomore class of Allentown Hugh Qchcol When the 8 O0 bell rang-school started early that year the Class of 4l made uts officual debut Much of theur money they spent the first week buyung elevator passes to keep the senuors happy But many of the boys were workung hard un preparatuon for the tume when they would represent A H S on the gruduron on the court or un the pool That year we gave our support and talents to the unter class play 320 College Avenue lt was a year of learmng to work together as a class Our lunuor year saw us travelung to the New York World s Faur and rught back un tume for Monday s classes These were our first school trups That year famuluar names were appearung un the luneups of the games Some of the leading roles and supporting parts The Haunted Hugh School was a bug success As a class we were un transutuon, we had furned our backs on our sophomore days and experuences looked around and were satusfied for a whule, and finally looked ahead to our coming year as senuors The memory of our senuor year us stull fresh Our football team dustunguushed utself by holdung Bethlehem to a scoreless he ln basketball we went unto the play offs after defeatung Hazleton lt was the year of that long Chrustmas vacation of Galahad Jones, and of the school s first aquacade We ve done a lot of thungs together The Class of 41 wull never agaun root our hugh school team to vuctory or sung the Alma Mater un Monday mornung assemblues We ve worked hard and played hard, and as un baseball uts a case of three strukes and you re out I I , . . . . . . , I . . . - ll ll ' I ' - I u I n . . . , in the inter-class play, What a Life, were taken by our members.
