CLASS HISTORY fCon'tl A Mrs. Chaffee, our teacher of fifth grade, showed us how to write interesting stories and speak poems such as nThe Duelu by Eugene Field. Here we were introduced to the pioneers of our country. South.America, here we come! With Mrs. Bemish as our teacher we learned all about South America and its inhabitants.. Mrs.eHartt Joined us in the second semester and we went to work on decimals in Arithmetic. It was here that we met Ken Stewart and Dick DeLong. ' I In seventh grade with Miss Hines as our teacher we studied many different phases in English. We spent an interesting year in Social Studies with Mr. Fox who has since left our school to become a Principal. That year we were glad to welcome Terry Touchton as a new member of our group. The highlight of the year was helping the eighth grade put on H.-M. S. Pinafore by Gilbert and Sullivan. We were again happy to find that Mrs. Pilkington was to be our teacher in eighth grade. A new member, Sarah Couch, Joined our group. The operetta, Tom Sawyer, was the highlight of the year with Miss Ward as our director. Now that the year is almost over we are looking forward to high school and the many enjoyable years we hope to have. Although we are leaving Allen Creek School, we will always remember the help and guidance received from our teachers, parents and many friends. ' ' '
