Allen Countifs Champion Cheerleaders The Allen County Patriot Cheerleaders got off to a good start this year by winning the first place trophy in the Y.M.C.A. Clinic in Bowling Green in October. This accomplishment inspired the squad into setting their goals high. They determined that they would be the best group of Patriot cheerleaders ever. This end was not easy to reach. They set for themselves certain standards to meet and rules by which they were to abide. They had a regular schedule of practices and were constantly on the alert for new and different yells and routines. As district tournament time approached, they worked harder than ever. Their hours of prac- tice paid off when they were chosen the champion cheerleaders of the 15th District. Further encouraged, they again decided that they were going to win. The week passed quickly. Their time was spent in practicing and perfecting their yells and side-line routines. A good deal of time was also consumed in polishing shoes and getting their uniforms in excellent condition. Once more their labors were rewarded when they won the 4th Region competition at Diddle Arena in Bowling Green. On March 14th, the group journeyed to Louisville to be ready for competition on Friday morning. They were up early that day to get in that last few minutes of practice and get to Free- dom Hall by nine o'c1ock. All of the cheerleading squads there were outstanding. Although our cheerleaders did not Win first place, we can be very proud of the fact that they were the first representatives of the 4th Region in the state contest. They represented Allen County well! Strader's Dairy, Inc. Grade A Homogenized and Pasteurized Dairy Products Hiseville, Kentucky
