Foreword Not too many moons ago we entered the wigwam of Allegheny High School as lOB papooses. We were turned loose on the fertile field of education. Some of us pur- sued the primaries of a higher education, others the preparation for a iob or for marriage. Our very first ceremony was the Get Acquainted Dance. This marked the beginning of many heap-good ceremonies and traditions. A favorite one was the football games. Here we found an outlet for our spirit by beating out tom-toms and cheering the Indians on to victory after victory. Many of us ioined the organized tribes which serve our school. Some banded together to give the school entertainment in the form of assemblies, dances and publications of the school magazine, the Wah Hoo. Through all of these activities we have enriched our personalities and have made life- long friendships. Now that it has come time for us to leave, we have made this book to record all our memorable experiences at Allegheny. We feel it is these ex- periences which will make the outside world a truly happy hunting ground. We have chosen an lndian to carry out the theme of our book this year because he has iust become our new mascot. To us, our lndian chief is the spirit of all the truly good things we have shared in our three happy years at Allegheny. 2 .53-, ,rr wx A Q14
