When you young people came to Allegheny three years ago we were pleased to hear from your previous schools that you were a good group with which to work. You have lived up to that reputation. You are becoming alumni of a school which has, since its beginning, stood for the development of the most essential educational ingredients necessary for successful careers. These ingredients are good scholarship, leadership, service, and character. lt would seem to me that you would be quite proud to ioin an association of such spirits as Mary Roberts Rinehart, Judge Harry Montgomery, Judge Ralph Smith, Judge William H. McNaugher, Judge Joseph A. Richardson, and Judge Walter Smart. In the entertainment world Alle- gheny is proud of Walt Framer, Hal Davis, and Baron Elliott. ln education Dwight Morrow, Miss Marie Saul, Miss Isabel Epley, Mr. Hamilton Lyon, Dr. John Schaefer began their careers at Allegheny. In medicine, athletics, or whatever the category of occupation, graduates of Allegheny have gained distinction. l want to extend my best wishes to each of you as you ioin this splendid group of Allegheny alumni. Have faith in yourself, in your family, in your school, in your community, in your state and nation and, in your daily work and make the world better for having lived in it. Mr. lsenberg VICE-PRINCIPAL Mr. Isenburg is reading an important message in his office.

Dr. Accetta ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR A noted philosopher once remarked that work should be a pleasure To me that statement is certainly true when it con cerns working with the students of Allegheny High School, particularly the seniors. The senior class ofa high school often must work with the faculty to plan the activities and establish the rapport of the school. At Allegheny, l have experienced some of the most pleasant days of my life as a teacher, be- cause here many of the seniors are cooperative and self- sacrificing in order to bring to reality the ideals symbolized by the high school seal. One of the cardinal principles of American education is the teaching of good citizenship through the democratic pro- cess. ln directing the activities of Allegheny High School, l have occasion to mark the students' growth in learning this process as they move from the sophomore through the sen- ior year. Allegheny seniors are a credit to their parents and to their school, and l am certain will continue to prove their worth in the careers they have chosen. Mr. Accetta plans for an assembly in his office.
