For the first time sinee 1949, the Sparklers triumphed over all section rivals. lvlany thought a disappointing season was in the orfing when the Red 55 Blue lost two tight contests ' to Stowe 13f7 and Dormont 7f0. hut the team really hegan to move as they ripped through a five game schedule with unlimited success plus an exhihition vietory over MeKees Rocks 2f1f12. the first time that a Ram team had heen suhdued hy an A.1'1.S. squad. The season hurst wide open with a 5141 triumph over Langley. Allegheny then demolished the Perrv Commodores 3741. in one of the toughest. roughest, hardffought games of the season. The traditional game with Oliver arrived. and the cheers resounded as the Sherman Avenue Sparklers hlanked the Bears 18,01 Fifth Avenue was the first section opponents to seore against Allegheny, hut it was of no avail as Allen's Armada swept onward W 1. .'-' F Allegheny vented their venganee on Carrick 1913. The Raiders were the onlv team to defeat A. H, Sz in 1972. An iniurvfriddled squad lost a hearthreaking championship game to Peahody 21f0. The composite scoring shows definite proof of Alleghenxfs vaunted scoring power. The Red U Blue outscored opponents 134 to 72. We registered 64 first downs to the enemy's 36.
