Alleghany traveled to Independence for a non-conference bout with the Blue Devils and came out with a 0-0 tie. The Trojans penetrated deeply into Blue Devil territory twice only to be blunted by the Blue Devil defense and a penalty which cost the Trojans a touchdown. Alleghany Vs. Northwest Ashe. Alleghany's offense shifted into high gear scoring 20 points in the first half as the defense stiffened and shut out the Mountaineers 26-0. Alleghany Vs. West Wilkes. West Wilkes scored in the first quarter making the score at the half 6-0. The defense held the Black Hawks on many crucial third down plays as the offense generated a touch down and an extra point to win the game 8-6. Alleghany Vs. Ashe Central.—Homecoming— Alleghany fought off the inspired Panthers to post an important conference victory by a score of 20-7. Alleghany Vs. North Surry. Alleghany traveled to North Surry only to receive its first defeat. Even though Alleghany lost, with a score of 14- 21, it was believed by many to be the best game played by the Trojans thus far. With the brave Trojans efforts, they clinched the conference title and collected a few Beaver pelts by routing Beaver Creek 21-0.
