Practical Arts students learn varied skills Mr. Richard C. Duff Richmond Professional Institute, B.S. Distributive Education Sponsor, Distributive Education Clubs of America Those students who enjoy working with their hands gain valuable training in the Practical Arts Depart- ment. Students learn proper use and care of equipment, safety precautions, the ability to follow directions, as well as patience and coordination. To add a bit of variety to the courses, each year the Homemaking Department exchanges students with the Industrial Arts Department for one week. This switch often proves to be humorous as well as helpful. Another very useful course in the Practical Arts Department is driver ' s training, taught by Mr. Mitch- ell. Students taking driver ' s training learn proper handling, care, and use of an automobile. Mrs. Jane Harmon Madison College, B.S. Homemaking Sponsor, Future Homemakers of America Mr. Robert C.
