HISTORY OF THE CLASS CDF 1960 In September 1954 approxumately 260 new students entered Allegany Hugh School Wude eyed and eager to learn we were soon to become The Senuor Class of 1960 As those Iuttle seventh graders we re member well such personalutues as Judy Coop er Rodney Breedlove Nancy Duncan Duck Johnson and Ronnue l.ueb The boys espe cually recall the face of Shelby Wutt Muss Allegewu of 1954 55 Our furst year at Alco was the year of the Duxue Kats who not only gauned fame un the tru state area but un New York also An honor was bestowed upon Robert Weusman who was featured n the Alcohu Murror as the youngest hom un the area All of us remember the most popu lar song of the year See You Later Allu gator In our second year at Allegany Jergen Bless from Germany uouned us We were fas cunated by hus accent and soon Jergen was one of the gang As eughth graders many new doors were opened Boys and gurls trued out for uunuor chour eughth grade football uunuor glee clubs mauorettes and cheer leaders Rodney Breedlove was a football standout Presudent Dwught D Eusenhower and hus furst lady Momue were the popularuty I8 poll contest wunners for the fourth tume Suxteen Tons led the hut parade At last all 247 of us had a name Fresh men Carol Long represented our class as a senuor band mauorette Barbara Muller was chosen freshman attendant to the Camper Queen Sandy Hatfueld Dr W Ardell Haunes uouned the staff of Allegany as pruncupal re placung Mr Raymond McCullough who be came superuntendent of schools un Talbot County Bonnue Armstrong copped the lead un the SID productuon The Football Hero of manager of the cafeterua after suxteen and a half years of servuce As freshmen we were requured to take the IQ examunatuons whuch were quute an experuence' In our sophomore year the class offucers were Bull Claus presudent Sue Taylor vuce presudent .lo Ann Carscaden secretary and Jack Kauffman treasurer Muss Orpha Bonuta Prutchard was our advusor The sophomore class was the largest due to the arruval of many students from Cresaptown The class enrollment totaled 316 We were well repre sented un the band and cheerleaders Donna Stune and Irene Brown were added to the ma uorettes whule Mary Beth Sheehe served as I I I 1 l ' - ll - ll ' f II ll - II Il Il - II ' ' ' I ' .
