Tints of red and blue bathe the turrets of the Mosque and color the crescent ling of lslzim that tlutters upon the gzite-tower. Outside these guarded wzills, in the strunglmld of the Crusaders, Slllillllll, the candidate lm' ltiiightlmocl, has spent the day in prayer. Now, that it is evening, the day is culminated by the final and most sacred test of strength. His failure will mean disgrace-if he succeeds he will gain both honor and praise. The Crusaders draw near and stand mwtionless as the candidate brings his sword down upon the sturdy war club. The suspense heightens as the results are uncertain, but when Salzidin withdraws his sword, Il cry ul victory lills the zlir. The young' wzirrim' has won. SE IORS

A LLIGEW I l930 Senior' Class History OMETHlNG LOST, something gainedl That is the thought of every senior, when he bids goodbye to dear old Allegany on Commencement Day. He dons his suit of armor that Allegany has given him and rides forth on life's broad highway with its many paths and byways of success and failure to reach his goal. He remembers his Sophomore year, filled with timidity of the large and spacious building and his upper classmatesg his junior year, full of school activi- tiesg and lastly, his Senior year, supreme with superiority and scholastic and social events. Excitement and Importance? Yes! Together with his friends, he has attained his goal through his work of four years. Their paths diverge. He has nothing now but fond memories of Alle- gany.
