FOREWORD It is early morningg the walls echo the slightest sound and the halls shine with emptiness. As school time approaches, people begin to drift in until, by the opening bell, the whole school is a warm, pulsating place, a busy scene of school books, noise, students, and teachers, all teeming with new ideas for the new day. That is what we want our yearbook to be, not just an empty echo of another year gone by on laggard feet, but a vibrant report of the things that have made 1953-1954 the best ever at A.C. S. Here are the familiar faces, the classes, the organizations, and the sports. Not any of them are too different from years gone by, but they are all-im- portant to us who participated in them. We hope that the 1954 FOOTHILLS will in our later lives cause our high school memories to fade as a single thread into the complex fabric of life.
