HOWARD BAKER, JR. MAY 19, 1969-MARCH 11, 1987 Howard Baker had a story that had to he told Of his unending smile and heart of gold His laughter, his jokes, his sweet ways There are many more things that I could say He was our friend for such a short time Its hard to sort out lifes mystical rhyme 1 hope he knew he was liked here And he never had anything to fear The day began and all was the same But as it ended disaster came On a mountain covered with snow Just try ing to see how far he could go The news said young hoy sliding with friends So sad a life should have to end When 1 heard of the accident, 1 sat down and cried And tried to find reasons for why he had died With so much evil in the world today Why did one so innocent have to pay But death can come and steal a life Howard didn't have time to fight But I will not question for 1 can see This must be something which was meant to be A freckle-faced boy with so much to give But God decided he could not live As 1 think back to yesterday 1 remember his laughter It will remain in my memory forever ever 22 (HOWARD WE MISS YOU)
