CjCASS mjszokv In September of 1980, we, the class of nineteen hundred eighty-four, began the journey toward our graduation-eleven in number: Corey Hafford, Becky Hafford, Polly McBreairty, Darren Hafford, Belinda Jackson, Shelley McBreairty, Kim Kelly, Kim Jackson, Cara Kelly, Lisa Wilson and Elbridge McBreairty. Elbridge McBreairty did not return our second year and Todd Puckett joined us for one year only. Lisa Wilson also did not return that year. After our junior year we lost four students who left to attend college early: Cara Kelly, Kim Kelly, Kim Jackson, and Shelley McBreairty, but they plan to return for graduation. Becky Hafford decided to finish her education through correspondence courses and plans to return for graduation. Now that we have reached our final year, we are four in residence: Corey Hafford, Darren Hafford, Belinda Jackson, and Polly McBreairty. Through the years we have enjoyed the times together, planning dances, having raffles and a semi-formal dance, which was a change because there has never been any form of formal dances at this school. We would like to wish our underclassmen the best in whatever they plan to do.

We, the Senior Class of 1984, are proud and honored to dedicate our yearbook to a very special person. A humanist in the purest sense of the word-children were individuals and allowed to be heard. Demeaning the child was just not her style. She made them think of their mistakes for awhile, never had to raise her voice to make them obey, just got their attention in a subtle sort of way. The child’s status in society was completely ignored and throughout the school year the students ability soared. Some children who had lost themselves on the way soon discovered, I'm important! What more can I say?” An excellent teacher and we want it heard: “Ruth the humanist in the purest sense of the word.”
