Superintendent - Principal Mr. Jack Pinder Secretary - Linda McBreairty Principal s Message Since I have been here for only a short time, it is most difficult for me to evaluate your performance at Allagash High School. Certainly, there are the records, but much more is involved in determining the overall contribution to the total program. Things such as character development, school spirit, cooperation and per- severance are all imponant contributing factors. Now, I have noticed, even though the time has been brief, all these qualities existing within you, the Class of 1974. You have already left your mark in the record book. You are the first class ever to carry the banner of Alla- gash High School to the Eastern Maine Basketball Tournament at Bangor! This being accomplished against the toughest of obstacles; a very limited enrollment. 1 can say with pride that I have seen each and every game, since coming to Allagash. It is not only the winning you did that counts, but the way you played, as a team, hard and clean. Even more important, was the way you conducted yourselves in public away from home. Your friendly, mannerly way, with respect for others, carried with you a shining example of the kind of people that live in Allagash. You are indeed excellent ambassadors of good-will for Allagash. Having said these things about you, there is nothing more for me to say, other than, good luck to you all in the future and God be with you. 2

Farewell to Our Alma Mater

Memory °f Annette Thy soul shall find itself alone 'Mid dark thoughts of the grey tomb-stone - Not one, of all the crowd, to pry Into thine hour of secrecy. Be .silent in that solitude Which is not loneliness - for then The spirits of the dead who stood In life before thee are again In death around thee - and their will Shall overshadow thee: be still. The night - tho' clear - shall frown - And the stars shall not look down From their high thrones in the Heaven, With light like Hope to mortals given - But their red orbs, without beam, To thy weariness shall seem As a burning and a fever Which would cling to thee forever. Now are thoughts thou shah not banish - Now are visions ne'er to vanish - From thy spirit shall they pass No More - like dew-drops from the grass. The breeze - the breath of God - is still - And the mist upon the hill. 3
