The moments of laughter, the moments of tears, The warm feelings we felt during those years. This old scrapbook I buried in the bottom of a drawer, Now unlocks and opens an old familiar door. I was so sure the youth and laughter would last, And it did in a scrapbook that belongs to my past. 2 Introduction 4 Student Life Skill Center Students: Building The Skills Of Tomorrow . . . Yes, Joel Toporski, that is an engine. You can read my blueprints anytime, Dan Wozniak. Tim, Krzyminski, what the $@ are you doing? Watch those fingers Diana Warnement!! Our All Saints students attending Skill Center are given a chance to try their hand in the field of their choice. Some of these students are looking forward to job placements in which they are able to attain their goal in life. Who is that masked man? Brian Novak will never tell. Patty Villareal and art therapy aid young adults. Community Service: Seniors Bill Jaynes aids a future Cougar by helping in the grade schools. Karin Mclnerny puts her business classes to use while working with files. Vicki Heme lends a helping hand at the DoAll Center. 6 Student Life Student Life 7 Paul Savage and Mark Bukowski anxiously watch as Paul attempts to show young athletes how to “shoot the hoop”. Kevin Syring is hard at work correcting sentences for early elementary young- sters at St. James School. Mary Ellen Luczak and T.J. Weist work in the office at St. Stan’s Elementary School, not Dow Chemical (yet). Brian Glycz cleans the sink in Mr. McDonough’s room after some underclassmen failed to read the posted sign. Give A Helping Hand This program has been operating for several years with the idea of spreading good will throughout the community as well as giving students a chance to do Christian service. This course emphasizes getting to know one’s strengths and weaknesses and discovering one’s gifts in order to serve others. First semester over 60 seniors are involved as teachers aides and office help in various grade schools, instructional aides at the Do All Center and assistants for teachers and secretaries at both campuses. Jobs: The First Step On Sue Mrozinski and Michelle Bukowski, busy at Mini-Mac McDonalds. Bob Yacks smiles as he tows away Marilyn Kurlinski’s car. Mark Bukowski shows his favorite two Fingers at South End Pharmacy. Terry Kram and Paul Budzinski take time out of their hectic KFC job to pose for a picture. Is Kroger’s where Jodi Walraven feeds her Friday Habits? The Long Road To Adulthood Cindy Fox patiently waits on a Burger Chef customer. John Mrozinski is tired of working for peanuts. Kevin King puts the finishing touchs on the red hots at Mr. Hot Dogs’. Move over Mr. Coffee, here comes Hot Dogs’ Liz White. Dan Wozniak enjoys washing, at Mini-Mac McDonalds. 9 School Play: A Rags To Riches Story Steve Covieo, the King and Sue Ouelette, the Queen rehearse their duet together. The King gives the Prince a lecture on the trials and tribulations of falling in love with that mysterious girl (Cinderella) at the ball. The school play was accomplished by an equal effort from the students and the teachers. This year our play was Cinderella, directed by Mr. Rob- ert Rose. Rehearsals for the play started just after Christmas. This play was performed in March. The people in the play worked very hard. Lynn Grusczynski, Cinderella practices one of her numerous songs while Mitch Beekman, the Prince looks on. Steve takes the authority of the King a little to far. His part has gone to his head. 10 Forensics And Debate: Speaking Out At All Saints, students are able to speak out through Forensics and Debate. This class is taught by Mr. Rose and Sr. Janine. The students speak about subjects which are important to them, the importance of speaking their minds. These classes also help the students prepare for the play and the Forensics and Debate season. Mr. Robert Rose and Sandy Rynalski encourage Ted Kulinski’s inter- pretation of the reading. Ted Kulinski practices for his debate. George Anker asks the question: “To be or not to be.” Mark LaBean sh6wn here starts off the debate with a few words. 11 Music: A.S.C. Struts It’s Stuff A little louder please, we can’t hear you. There are two music groups at All Saints, the Madrigals and the Tinnulas, both taught by Mr. Meyer. To be in either of these groups, it takes time, practice, and talent. That is what makes these All Saints students special. Mark Machelski and Shelly Bisel await their chance to strike. (By the way, nice gloves, Mark!) Cheryl Heckroth sings it out!! IBi Frank Sinatra, eat your heart out!! 12 Student Life Student Council: Taking Responsibilities Student Council has five representatives from each grade. There is a President of All Saints, Mary Ellen Luczak, who is helped by the vice-Presidents of North and South Campuses. The students in Student Council have to be very responsible because they must make decisions, not just for their classmates, but, for the whole student body. President Mary Ellen I.uczak starts the meeting off on the lighter side. Mr. Covieo, it's not too exciting for you, is it? Homecoming Mass Remains Tradition At All Saints, the celebration of the Homecoming liturgy is consid- ered to be one of the highlights of Spirit Week. This year, the liturgy was held, even after the idea of a Homecoming prayer service was suggested. Our liturgy took place on Monday, October 18, 1982, at St Stanislaus Parish. Fr. Bob De- land and Fr. John Cotter presided at this liturgy. We extend our congratulations to King Terry J. Weist, Queen Mary Ellen Luczak, and the court and their escorts. Fr. Bob Deland questions what Home- coming means to each of us. Fr. Bob and Fr. John genuflect with solemnity near the altar of God. Brian Socia, senior class president, serves as lector. All Saints’ community unites as one with the celebration of the Eucharist. Jean and Cathy turn to congratulate MaryEllen, who is in a state of disbelief at being named our new Homecoming Queen. Terry Weist escorts Mary Ellen Luczak down the aisle at the end of Mass, as the varsity football players look on. 14 Homecoming Seniors show enthusiasm on New Wave Day. Cindy, where are your teeth? “Sheik” Stan Musial successfully overpowers an ASC Faculty member, Mr. Owen. Jim Richart fails to scare Marianne with another practical joke. Sheridan, S. “Kwap” and S. Krakowski act as Mr. Franz’s undercover bodyguards. Mike explains his wardrobe, My mom overslept?” Homecoming 15 Spirit And Unity At 1982 Homecoming Over the past two years, two members of the class of ’83 have sparked spirit among students and fans at bas- ketball games. By popular demand, this duo performed at our Homecoming pep rally. Pictured at left is Jim Richart, and at right, Ed Neitzel displaying their version of “Gimme a C, Gimme an O ” Pat Thelen shows us his award winning lovely legs. nting the ’83 queen and senior court members, Mary Ellen, Jean and Cathy. Soph skit members tell us how awe- some the Cougars really are. Pep Rally Lifts Us Up Where We Belong 1. Senior varsity football players prepare to strip for the Senior Skit. 2. “Rear View” shows us that the team wants to go beat Oscoda. 3. Varsity Cheerleaders spark enthusiasm among the entire student body. 4. Commercial break in skit reveals that the Class of ’86 is stuck on Cougars. 5. Another great performance by the Varsity Pom Pom squad! 6. Seniors winning hall “Lifts Us Up Where We Belong Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” 17 When The Parade Passes By Every year All Saints holds a Homecoming parade. It be- gins at South Campus, and the destination is St. Joe’s Field. Featured in this parade are not only our Homecoming queen and her court, but also the cheerleaders, Pom pon girls, and each individual class float. After the parade, the floats are displayed at the Homecoming game, where the winning hall and float is announced, along with the class with the most spirit. This year, the class of ’84 won the float competition with their creation entitled “Cou- gars Cornin’ at Ya. Once again, we look back on this years parade, and remember all the smiles, and unity it brought since everyone loves a parade! Homecoming ’82 is now nothing more than a memory. At this time, we reflect on the events leading to our Homecoming dance and half-time. Looking back on Homecoming, we felt a certain kind of magic in the air. A few of these “magical” moments have been captured on film. Presenting the 1982 Homecoming Queen.
