ELAGGIRLS DOUBLE AS BANNER GIRLS IN BAND COMPETITION Working with the band, the 1970-71 flag girls represented Alisal well at parades and contests. The girls practiced hard after school perfecting routines and getting their uniforms ready for competition. Among the many activities the group helped plan was the All-Western United States 'liwirling Competition. The girls raised part of the money for this event through bake sales and a stuffed toys sale. 'Iihe competition was the largest in the Western United States. Helping the band raise money and assisting at concerts were other activities at which the girls helped. ILU - FORMATION OF RIFLE CLUB PROVIDES STUDENTS OPPORTUNITY TO USE AND LEARN SAFETY AND MARKSMANSHIP The officers for the year '70-'71 were Fenta Birarra, Presidentg Corbie lVIorales, Vice President: and Eugene Leroy, Secretary. The advisor and the Rifle Club had a booth at the Quermes. Included in their activities was going to the police target range every Tuesday to practice shooting. In the future the club hopes to have interAschool matches. These matches would challenge the members and their opponents with tests of ability and accuracy in shooting. FRONT ROWI: E. Yount. y v ELECTRONICS CLUB CONTINUES TO ADD EQUIPMENT TO RICHARD NELSON MEMORIAL LIBRARY The Electronics Club officers were: David Holes, President and John Shumaker. The advisor was lVIr. Ogborn. The Electronics Club purpose is to create and expand the membersl mutual interest in electronics. All of the projects have been done on the members own time. This year the Electronics Club has stressed working with short wave equipment. To further their interests they visited Comsate Earth Station in Carmel. During Christmas the club helped in setting up lighting in frontof the school for the school's annual Christmas decorations. ' Next year the Electronics Club hopes to have a promising year.
