ELAGGIRLS DOUBLE AS BANNER GIRLS IN BAND COMPETITION Working with the band, the 1970-71 flag girls represented Alisal well at parades and contests. The girls practiced hard after school perfecting routines and getting their uniforms ready for competition. Among the many activities the group helped plan was the All-Western United States 'liwirling Competition. The girls raised part of the money for this event through bake sales and a stuffed toys sale. 'Iihe competition was the largest in the Western United States. Helping the band raise money and assisting at concerts were other activities at which the girls helped.
