QUILL AND SCROLL - HONORARY JOURNALISM ORGANIZATION The international honorary society for high school journalists is the Quill and Scroll Cluh. Membership is offered to those who have done outstanding work on a school newspaper. This year the society awarded the Trojan Tribune recognition as the second best school newspaper in the United States. Perhaps the most humorous highlight of the year was the society's participation in the senior-sponsored Big Sandwichy' contest. Contestants made sandwiches to fit catagories such as Hgrossest sandwich , Biggest sandwich , and Hdullest sandwich . Adding to the fun was when the contestants had to eat their sandwiches. The Alisal society snared the 'IBest-Overall trophy with its award winning sandwich. Mr. Puterbaugh, advisor, and Jack Hanks, President, did a fine job of supervising the society.

HOMEROOM REPRESENTATIVES - STUDENTS' VOICE IN COMMISSION CREATIVE WRITING PRODUCES FIFTH ANNUAL ALIGRAPH An annual event at Alisal is the yearly publication of the Creative Writing Club's Aligraph. The editor, Linda Hall, and the advisor, Mr. Grimes, sparked interest in this magazine by holding a writing contest which anyone could enterg thus the Aligraph becomes the combined work of not only the club but the entire student body. Assistant Editor Llulie Fields, Secretary ,lanet Smalley, and Treasurer -left Iiear were also helpful in the publication of the Aligraphs. ,ludy Riley and Annette Larrecou were in charge of publicity. The cover design and the designs on the inside pages are accredited to the artistic talents of .-Xnnette I,arrecou and Peter Smith. This year the Homeroom Representatives worked diligently to create a better Alisal High. Among the many jobs pertormed were bringing new and better ideas to Commission meetings. To be a representative a student is elected by his homeroom class. The student then attends the meetings and reports to the class what business was discussed. Among the many changes the representatives and commission made was the penalty for unauthorized sales of any kind on campus. The representatives did a good job this year and hope to do a better one in the future. IJRUNT RUVV: Lear, I.. Hall, Mr. Cvrirnes-Advisor, ROW 2: S. Simon, P. Smith, ROW' 3: fi. Vlvence, Fields, D.
