Edgerton i62l, Uchida l40l, and Serrano i2Ol VARSITY GRIDSTERS HAVE FINEST SEASON IN SCHOOLS HISTORY The Alisal Trojans kicked off the 1969 football season by winning their first three games. The team beat Carmel and Aptos with scores of 14A6 and 40-0, respectively. The contest with the Cowboys ended when the Trojans made a touchdown and the extra point in the last thirty seconds, winning the game 7Y6. ln the game against Seaside, school records were smashed. These records were: hightest number of points-54, most yardage-461 yards, Tom Smith broke the scoring record for one game with four touchdowns, Ron Choate broke the rushing record with 171 yards, Ted Uchida broke the record for unassisted tackles with 14 tackles, and Bill Schroeder broke the record for most interceptions in one game with 7. The team had a fine offense, with great piloting jobs done by quarterbacks Ron Stefani and Bill Schroeder. Other outstanding offensive players were Tom Smith, Ron Choate, Dave Tonus, Geno Favero, Gary Hughes, Frank Jacobo, Percy Serrano, Pete Mazzuca, Larry Ritchie, and Jim Rubis. Giving fine defensive performances were Ted Uchida, Steve Jaurique, Luther Norred, and David Doris.
