The officers were George Barden, President: Delia Nerez, Vice-President: Sandra Cotham, Secretary, and Linda Briggs, Treasurer. This organization created an enthusiasm for scholarships, stimu- lated a desire to render service to the school, promoted leadership, and developed character in the members of the school. All of their numerous activities were centered around Service, Scholarship, Character, and Leadership. Officers of the National Honor Society plan ahead for the future. CALIFOR IA SCHOLARSHIP This year the officers of the California Scholarship Federation were Percy Serrano, President: Roger Pura, Vice-President, Connie Nlack, Treasurer: Becky Derichsweiler, Secretary: lVlrs. lVleeker, lVlrs. They presented assemblies, ushered at con- certs, and provided tutorial service in the local schools. GERMAN CLUB Officers of the German Club this year were Ken Bunden as Presi- dent, Mark Huff as Vice-President, Nancy Hollis as Secretary, Rhonda Zapora as Treasurer, and Ed Begun as Sergeant-of-Arms. The sponsor was Mr. Mark Williams. This year, as always, the German Club lDer Deutsche Vereinl pro- vided, in a non-academic setting, additional insights into the rich cultural achievements of the German people in music, science, literature, and an overview of German history, regional character- istics, and customs. In this way they increased interest in the study of the language. Gary Fleming and Debbie Anderson study in L.S.E.P.F. Some members of the German Club learn more about German living and culture. L. .E.P.F. The many fund raising activities were those which contributed valuable practical experience to members in law, selling, eco- nomics, and the handling of money. The club visited a court and received first-hand experience of the average proceedings of a court. The money that was remaining at the end of the year went toward a class dinner. The club was under the guidance of Mr. Fourcade. Officers for the 69-70 year were President, George Martinez, Vice-President, Bill Schroeder, Secretary, Linda Corral, and Treasurer, Terry Twiggs. The Christmas Program and the Spring Concert were proof of the singing ability of these groups.
