ew of amz., Nm Yes we thought 1t wont be long now unttl we ll be marchlng to the fam1l1ar stralns of Pomp and Ctrcurnstance Graduatlon day was draw1ng near and to most of us 1t would be a day we had long OWG1 ed A day that could never be forgotten As the t1me drew near we took a prlvllege dear to the heart of eve y semor and rem1n1sced lt seems such a short t1me ago that we entered A H S as very much bewtldered Freshmen but nevertheless we felt our class the most rmportant 1n the world For several weeks we pondered over teachers names and roorn numbers schedules up and down stalrs etc but 1t wasnt long unt1l we conquered these obstacles and were able to enter our Sopho more year wxth that grand feehng of secur1ty Although we st1ll studled hard dur1ng the week our thoughts over the week end drrfted towards the soclal world We began to Joln extra curr1 ular GCl1V1l19S to attend soc1als and some of us were lucky enough to go to the May Prom Also unhke any other class we held a 1o1nt meet1ng of the Ianuary and Iune clas es ele ted Olf1C9IS and began the collec t1on of dues Try1ng hard to keep our studles and soclal l1fe balanced we found ourselves one step hlgher we were Iunlors A new group of offr ers were ele ted and we all worked hard plannlng SOC1GlS and sell1ng A H S penclls and stattonery And our efforts were well re warded the evenlng of November f1rst when we danced to the dreamy muslc of Al Legge s orchestra at our Iunror Prom The Showboat Flnally the year arr1ved when we were all looked up to our Senlor year Once agam able leaders were ele ted to gurde us throughthe 1mportant year Work was begun on our OUIPPIAN A large percentage of our class was honored by mductlon 1nto the Natronal Honor SOC1elY Then came the date wh1 h w1ll probably hold a h1gh pos1t1on among our mem orles Yes Ianuary frfteenth was tl'e date chosen for that gala event Wlnter Enchantment -our Senlor Prom A few days after the Prom the Ianuary graduates b1d adleu to the school and to the Iune Class as they marched away w1th mlsty eyes toward commencement and a new world The rest of our class prcked up the1r books to begln the1r last semester These last four months were a flurry of a l1V1l19S sentor partles soc1als club work f1n 1sh1ng the yearbook and thousand ltttle dutres whlch come to every Semor A few more of our class entered the N H S the teachers gave aone act play for the QUIPPIAN and our Masque and Dagger Club drd the three act All My Sons But the tnevltable day came The beautrful strams of Pomp and Clrcumstance called us to come and take our places 1U the World Wrth tears rn our eyes and that tlght feehng ln our throats we recelved dlplomas and congratulatlons Then we turned and took one last look and sa1d one last goodbye to a frrend called Al1qu1ppa Hrgh School IANUARY HOMEROOM TEACHER Mrs Hoover Mr Tatalovrch Seated S Moms I Yarosh Mr Blaney Mrs Flemxng Mr Kuvmka S OFFICERS MAY I-IOM ROOM TEACHERS Mrs George Standmg I DeVore R Iohns W Kxrk M s Adams Mr McCorm1ck
