Yes, whether it's memorization, grammar, literature, themes, book reports, book club subscriptions, and a host of other duties, it all comes under the English department. The English office buzzes with constant activity and affords ample proof of the efficiency of its more than qualified department head, Miss Thel. HISTGRY CS GEOGRAPHY Mr. Clifford Smith In history and geography classes we learn of and come to appreciate the won- derful heritage which is ours. From free discussion and exchange of our ideas, we weigh and consider the possibilities of the future. Inspiring us to become useful citi- zens is Mr. Clifford Smith, head of the de- partment, who is well known throughout the district for his participation in civic affairs. COMMERCIAL Mr. Dale Robinson A large percentage of Aliquippa High students are enrolled in either the clerical or stenographic divisions of the commer- cial course. Courses offering instruction in typing, shorthand, office practice, busi- ness law and organization, and book- keeping prepare students for future office work. This department also assists in the publication of the school newspaper, the QUIP SCRIPT. SCIENCE Mr. Francis W. Marley The interesting field of science is made even more so through the efforts of Mr. Marley and his assistant, Mr. Tatalovich. As a part of their visual education pro- gram, the department has increased its use of classroom films. Everything from Pascals Law to the Ionization Theory is covered thoroughly by this department in general science, biology, physics, and chemistry classes.
