How We Work And Somet1mes Play Hand in hand through the halls and por tals of our school go the boy and girl on a mission of learning With them go s good living Their life here has as many phases as there are facets to a diamond each reflect 1ng its own prcture Together these students learn nablts ot courtesy as they greet thelr teachers and tel low classmates each morning in the class room as they mount the stairs in couples one to the geometry class, the other to law and still another to history. A few go still another flight to physics or chemlstry class. The bell denoting change of class rings and pandemonlum reigns, but only for a mo- ment. Then all is quiet, and the air is once more laden with the heaviness that is charac- teristic of knowledge. True, not all are here for the same thing, collectively-yes, but individually-no. Some What greater lure is there tha h e and Or can it be the shop boys? We've got a queen, and oh sh 's keen For she's the dream ol ou b ketball t m. Watch the birdie, girls! Good food? No wonder. We've got the pep, we've got the st m When it comes to Ambridge, we su m. ln goes the good air, out goes the bad a Good bye, Mr. Lincoln. lt was n swell play How orderly . . . They're really industriou harbor ambitions to become artists, chemists, surveyors, engineers, While others Wish to take up medicine, nursing, teaching, and the many other professions which may develop from the solid background Aliquippa High School tries to furnish. When, after a busy day, the last bell rings for dismissal, and the classes troop out of their rooms, the boy and girl will stop for a moment at their lockers, then run out into the sunshine laughing and talking. Later, perhaps, they drop into the corner drug store for an ice cold coke , lounging comfortably in their jeans and dirty saddle shoes, talking over the day's subjects. Then some enthusiastic pupils leave their particular gathering to come back to school, Where they meet for extra-curricular activities. Yes, the boy and girl ot Aliquippa High School will go out into the World better ott for having been here, to meet the challenge which the world presents, hand in hand, pre- pared! Tl! W ,sf gi! .vo 5
