- Y -fm-wr' 1ww-w-w--- V fvw-u-y-ww-mf THE ALICE HIGH SCHOOL BAND The Alice High School Band, under the direction of Ierry Hoffman, has demonstrated during the school year l946-1947 the superiority in all band events which it has maintained for seven years. Besides being a well-drilled marching unit, the band is also a concert organization of the finest quality. It gives concerts during the year and takes part in the state music contest in the spring. The band has performed at all football games, adding color and pro- moting school spirit. lt has helped to make our school and town known by its appearances, since it has taken part in the many activities planned for high school bands. The band has assisted and cooperated with other or- ganizations in the school and community in carrying out some of their im- portant activities. This year the band entered into a new field. Giving broadcasts every other Sunday has helped the band to be outstanding: These programs have been given over KBKI, the new broadcasting station in Alice. The programs consist of marches, popular numbers, and classical selections. The organization looks forward to an increasingly successful future as one of Texas' best bands.
