Nevins, Olsker chosen as 2nd attendants Second attendants for Homecom- ing were Julie Nevins and Wally Olsker. They were both very active in sports throughout their high school years. Julie Nevins was a member of GAA her Freshman and Sophomore years, and in the Athletic Club her Senior year. Her Sophomore year she was on the Cross Country team and joined track each year. Julie was a Matmaid her Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years, and in Student Government all four years. She was chosen for Pom Line her final year. Wally Olsker was very active in sports throughout high school. He represented Alhambra all four years by being a member of the track team. Wally played football his Freshman and Senior years and was a member of the Athletic Club his Senior year. 46 HOMECOMING ATTENDANTS Kelly, Mabry named lst attendants Kathy Kelly and Don Mabry were chosen as the first attendants. Kathy was in GAA and Spikettes her Sophomore year, on the year- book staff and in Quill and Scroll her Junior year. She played Badminton for three years and was a member of the Athletic Club her Senior year. Don was on the Cross Country and Wrestling teams four years, taking honors in the State Championship. He was a member of the Athletic Club each year. Don was in Student Government three years and in Key Club his Junior and Senior years. He was in the National Honor Society and a Student Optimist his Senior year.

arner, wens reign over Homecoming Pete Owens, standing in for his brother Matt, and Jan Varner are being crowned 1977-78 Homecom- ing Royalty by last year's Royalty John Meyer and Cheryl Semmens. W x W . VVVV 5, ' f 5, -M The student body chose Jan Varner and Matt Owens for the 1977- 78 Homecoming King and Queen. They were crowned during the half- time ceremonies at the Homecoming game by last year's royalty. Jan was an active member of the band all four of her years at Alham- bra. She was in Advanced, Stage, Re- gional, and Pep Band. She partici- pated in Girl's State her Junior year, receiving the Outstanding Junior award from the U. of A. Jan was in Key Club and elected President of the National Honor Society her Sen- ior year. Matt played football throughout high school, and was tri-captain his Senior year. He was a member of the track team his Freshman, Sopho- more, and Junior years, and received two track awards his Freshman and Junior years. HOMECOMING ROYALTY 45

1 Nd 'W3' ri, , ii Lopez, Umland place as 4th attendants Roxanne Lopez and Jim Umland were chosen for the fourth atten- dants. They were both very active in Student Government. Roxanne played softball her Soph- omore and Junior years. She was in Student Government for three years, and was Vice President of the Stu- dent Body her Senior year. Jim played football and baseball all four years of high school. He was in Student Government for three years and the Student Body Presi- dent his Senior year. He was chosen as a Student Rotarian and was in the National Honor Society his final year. J orgensen, Riccitelli 3rd attendants Marie Jorgensen and Mike Ricci- telli placed as third attendants dur- ing Homecoming. Marie Jorgensen was in Matmaids her Freshman year, and in Key Club her Sophomore year. She was on the track team every year and on the Cheer line her last three. Marie was in the National Honor Society her Senior year. Mike Riccitelli played football for four years and wrestled for three. He was in the Science Club and Student Government his first year, and a Senior class Senator his last year. Mike was in the Key Club, on the track team his Junior year, and in the Athletic Club his Junior and Senior years. 5-err:-'
