Current events, movies, and lectures have made us realize how very vital this subject it. We owe it to our country to know all we can about our government, our history, and also the backgrounds of other nations, because today no country is more than sixty hours away from us. Only a well-informed public can insure a peaceful world.

Plays, programs, debates, orations, and tournaments have kept up their usual high standards, which were established many years ago. ln time of war, when we are engaged in so many war activities, the Speech department is called upon to till in many places.
