It is the local Chapter of the National Honorary Dramatic Fraternity, Delta Psi Omega. This organization is open to all members of the institute and offers experience in acting, costum- ing, make-up, properties and lighting. Each year the members produce three major productions, three one-act plays and one Chil- dren's Theater production. Some of the produc- tions presented in the past include The Glass Menagerie, All My Sons, Mister Roberts, An Enemy of the People, The Male Animal and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Born Yesterday and Death of a Salesmanv have been presented thus far this year. An annual Drama Festival is one of the major projects of the Charlatans. The festival features one- and three-act plays, modern dances and reader's theater productions by high school, col- lege, community and children's theater groups. Some of the highlights of the nineteen hundred fifty-live Third Annual Drama Festival include the Mansfield, Pa. State Teacher's College pres- entation of musical and dramatic experiments in movement, an original one-act play entitled Ap- pointment at Noona' by the Rochester Catholic Theater Group, a reader's theater production of f'Mourning Becomes Electra by Geneseo students and Alfred State Tech's presentation of An En- emy of the People. A Drama Demonstration Lecture Day is also an annual event at Alfred. The lecturers present demonstrations on techniques of theatrical pro- ductions to high school and community theater personnel. The Annual Modern Dance Confer- ence olfers lectures and demonstrations on modern dance as an art form.
