This year Alfred State Tech sponsored its seventh annual Fall Festival which again was a great success. The students and faculty worked side-by-side preparing for the two day exhibits to which area high schools, industrialists, and parents were invited. Shops, laboratories, and classrooms were open to provide information concerning the work in the various fields. Exhibits, displays, and demonstrations of farm machinery, business, agriculture, industrial shops, science, and floriculture were open to the inspec- tion of the visitors and guests. The Fall Festival was formally opened with a variety show staged by the students. The Harvest Ball, the big dance of the year for the socially minded State Tech student, brought about a climax of the activities which closed the Fall Festival of 1953. While Tommy Tucker and his great band provided the music, the climax of the evening was thc crowning of Barbara Di Gangi, the Harvest Ball Queen of 1953. 84
